UPCOMING ECSACO ELECTIONS
The ECSACO College Leadership and Secretariat members are drawn from more than 8 member countries. The leadership of the college is made up of the Executive Committee (EC), Finance and General Purpose Committee (FGPC), Examinations and Credentials Committee (ECC), and the Education, Scientific and Research Committee (ESRC), all to be tasked with managing the affairs of the College. The EC is composed of the President, Vice-President, Secretary General, the Chairs of the Standing Committees as well as the Secretariat of the College.
Currently, the College affairs are being run by members of an interim committee elected from the second Stakeholders Meeting that was held in Mombasa, Kenya. The committee comprises of:
- Chairperson.
- Vice Chairperson
- Secretary.
- Member from each representative country.
Open Positions
We are pleased to announce that the dates for the upcoming ECSACO elections have been confirmed and will take place from 19th November 2024 to 22nd November 2024. These elections will be conducted online, and only fully paid/registered members with valid membership numbers will be eligible to vote.

Dr. Jerry Ndumbalo
President Elect (TANZANIA)
Consultant Clinical & Radiation Oncologist
Dr. Ndumbalo is a Consultant Clinical and Radiation oncologist, Lecturer, and
Researcher at Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI) and the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS). He has over 15 years of cancer treatment, care, and research experience and is currently the Founder and First President of
the Tanzania Oncology Society (TOS).

Dr. Stephen Chege
Vice President (KENYA)
Clinical and Radiation Oncologist
Over 20 years in the medical field. Always pushing for and practicing quality, professional, patient centered care. Co-founded the cancer center at Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital. Innovative in handling patient issues, team player with tested leadership abilities.
Dr. Mandela Ogada
Secretary (KENYA)
Pharmacist
Dr. Mandela is an Oncology Pharmacist from Kenya, who is passionate about care for people living with cancer and who is dedicated to scientific research for innovative therapies against cancer. “Curing cancer has been my life’s mission since I was 8 years old. I hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Nairobi and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the University of Grenoble Alpes in France, with a focus on Biosciences and Bioengineering Innovations for Precision Medicine. My focus is on Innovative Cell-and-gene therapies, Biomarkers for in vitro diagnostics, and Radio-pharmaceuticals and theranostics. I believe that my service to ECSACO shall see the college scale new heights with regards to strategic collaborations within the region. Thank you for your support

Dr. Teresa Lotodo
Secretary (KENYA)
General Pathologist
Dr. Teresa Lotodo is a lecturer at the Department of Pathology, School of Medicine, Moi University. She is also the Head of Thematic Section of Hematology and Blood Transfusion. She is currently pursuing her PhD in the same department. She is a reviewer and has widely published in refereed Journals. She was awarded the CAP 21 Global Pathology Education Award. Her main goal is to Improve diagnosis of hematological disorders through Research, Training and Mentorship of
Clinical and Laboratory health care workers in the region.

Dr. Jocelyn Nyokabi

Dr. Jocelyn Nyokabi works as the Medical Director at Africa Telerad Ltd. Her efforts have cut the cost and turn-around time for imaging services for thousands of patients. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) and Master of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiation Medicine from the University of Nairobi.

Dr. Verna Vanderpuye

Senior Consultant Clinical Oncologist
Dr Verna Vanderpuye MBChB, FWACS,FGCP,FASCO is a senior consultant clinical oncologist at the
National Centre of Radiotherapy, Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, Korle-bu Teaching Hospital, Accra
Ghana. Her area of clinical and research interest are breast, genitourinary , sarcoma and lung cancer,
especially the management of these cancers in Africa and other LMIC. She is an adjunct Professor at the
Queens University in Canada, Department Of Oncology.
Dr. Ibrahim Hassan

Dr. Hassan M. Ibrahim is a Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon and a member of the Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Team Steering Committee at Kenyatta National Hospital. He also serves as a Consultant at Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Consultant Imaging & Radiologist
Dr. Leo Masamba is a leading Oncologist in Malawi. He is the founding oncologist of the Department of Oncology at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH instrumental in developing and improving oncology services in Malawi; including at Blantyre Adventist Hospital and Mwaiwathu Private Hospital.
He is one of the founding directors of the International Blantyre Cancer Centre, the first radiotherapy center in the country, and is actively involved in the development of the National Cancer Center in Lilongwe. Dr. Masamba is a regional council member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and a member of the African Cancer Coalition. He is also a Scientific Advisor for Sanofi.
